A few months ago it was my little sister^ birthday and I needed to get her a gift. This was a problem because my little sister is very particular about the type of gift she likes to receive. She is a minimalist (极简主义者）and, therefore, does not like receiving items and objects as gifts. I love my sister very much so I wanted to get her a gift which reflected how important she was to me. However, I could not give her jewellery or fine clothing as she did not want any material gifts.

Then，I decided I would prepare for her a handmade voucher (代金券）book of experiences she could claim (索要）from me. For example, I made her vouchers with which I promised to pay for a meal at any restaurant with her friends, I made others with which I promise to pay for cinema nights or going to the theatre and many more vouchers such as these. I thought she would love the idea, but I still wanted to make it more special for her. So I handcrafted the voucher booklet. This took me a lot of time to prepare as I painted beautiful images of her favourite birds and animals on each voucher. Furthermore, I inscribed the back of each voucher with a quotation from her favourite authors, actors and celebrities. This was all very time consuming work, after which I had to bind the voucher book together and wrap it as a gift. However, all of this time that was spent preparing the gift was worth it when I saw the happiness on her face as she opened it.
