Your landlord wants to increase the rent. Write a leer to him telling him.
In your letter, you should tell:
- why you think the rent shouldn’t be increased
- what you will do if it is increased.
Dear Mr. Kumar,
I am writing to request you to keep the rent unchanged for the coming year, unlike your yearly policy to increase it by 10%.
I am staying at flat 102, Murlidhar apartment. Having stayed here for 3 years, its been like a known feeling for me. Every year there has been an increment of 10% in the rent and I have adhered to it, but this time I am requesting you to
not to increase it.
There has been a reduction of rent in nearby areas and people have managed to get it at reduced prices. Since I am staying at this place from a long time and paying the rent regularly, I would not like to get the rent reduced nor increased. If you still wish to increase the rent, I would be forced to search for a new Landlord. The increased amount will not be in my affordable range, and I will have to look for the new place.
If you have any concern, do let me know
Hoping for a positive reply.
Yours sincerely
John Patel.
