  1. Why do people like to have food on special occasions?

I think people like to have food on special occasions because it is tradition and because sharing food is a great social way to celebrate. Traditionally, people celebrate important moments with big festive meals that they share with their friends and family. Birthdays, national holidays, and anniversaries are all things people like to celebrate with a good meal. I think this is because people love to eat their favourite foods and a meal is a nice way to spend time and socialise with your loved ones. This makes having nice food on special occasions a very popular thing.

  1. What is the difference between eating at home and eating out on special occasions?

Eating food at home is completely different than eating out on special occasions. At home you have a lot of control over your cooking and nutrition. Therefore, at home most people eat very healthy and nutritious meals. Furthermore, cooking often takes a lot of time and most people are busy so at home we cook simple meals that are easy to prepare. In contrast, eating out on special occasions often involves eating very decadent and luxurious foods. Moreover, it is an easy and wonderfull experience as you do not have to do any cooking or cleaning.

  1. Can national identity be seen in a nation’s culinary?

I think that national identity can be seen in a nation’s cuisine. This is because food is extremely important to different nations and to their culture. So much of our heritage and traditions are formed around food and food is also just an important part of day to day life. So, whenever I visit a different country the first thing I notice is how different the food is, which makes me realise how important food must be to a person’s national identity. I think because food is so unique in each country, food becomes something that reminds us of our homes and our national identity.

  1. Why do global leaders like to gather around for dinner?

Global leaders like to gather around for dinner because it is a civilised way to show respect and appreciation for each other. It is a lot like how you would treat a guest at your home. If somebody came to visit you, it would be right and proper to invite them to dinner and share a meal with them. This is because as a host it is important to look after your guest and show respect. It is also a sign of respect for the guest to appreciate your hospitality. Therefore, global leaders also gather around for dinner to attempt to strengthen bonds between nations.
