Do you prefer to watch live sports or watch it on TV?

Well the answer really depends on how important the game is. Personally, I certainly prefer sitting in the bleachers and watching sports live with a group of friends. Attending sporting events puts every spectator into the mood that makes them feel they’re one with the crowd. But most of the time, you have to hop on a plane just to get to the venue and watch the games live, which may cost a lot of money and take a lot of time. It is way easier to simply watch games on TV at home though it may not feel as real. At least to me, only very important ones, like semis or finals, are worth watching live.

Why do some people like to watch live sports?

Some people enjoy watching in the comfort of their own home while others need to be on site to feel the thrill. Watching live sports allows many people to be more “in the moment, like experiencing the live action during the game, and hearing the crowd yelling in the stadium. They make up part of the vivid experience to be soaked in the festive environment. Also, being in the stadium increases the number of attendees and cheering for your team boosts their morale.

What kinds of sports do Chinese people like to watch?

It is hard for me to speak for the entire Chinese population, since we are all quite different and obviously, have our own picks on various kinds of sports. But based on my observation, basketball and soccer are among the favorite sports of not only my friends but also other people on social media. These sports are what people like to watch and talk about as every game can keep one on the edge of their seat. Almost every school across the nation has basketball court so students can play either during their P.E. or after classes.

Do you think competition is good for students?

I think so but only when it’s a healthy competition, mainly because a healthy competition inspires students to do their best, and not just good enough. We can say a competition is healthy when winning is not the primary objective but one’s improvement is. The positive feedback incentivizes students to do more than what is required. Through it, they5d become more inquisitive and try to research more deeply into a subject. Under this circumstance, competition can teach students much more valuable life lessons than rote memorization. That way, students will come out more prepared for the future regardless of competition results.
