The topic that young people talk about is like a hotpot where different things are mixed all together. Essentially young people like to comment on what’s going on lately, may it be the newly released tech products or games, or their comments on a breaking news. But the trendy topics can vary. For example, young ladies are after the trending cosmetics and skin care products, like which facial mask hydrates the skin better or where they can buy certain products at a cheaper price; as for young men, talking about sports cars is definitely a passion that never dies, like which car engine cranks up the greatest horsepower or which car model is best known for its performance.
Do people have conversation more or less than they did in the past?

The popularity of text-based communication tools has made a significant amount of people very shy and gauche, as there are many online platforms that we can use to reach out to others. We no longer bother to physically interact with other people. When we get used to texting constantly, it will, in some degree, affect our oral communication skills.

Absolutely, having good communication skills is an essential quality that employers want every candidate to possess. In all the job fairs that I attended, nearly every job description asks for a good communication skill. This entails we need know how to make a meaningful conversation with others in order to get the job. As I’ve completed many work assignments throughout my career, I’ve learned that good communication between members boosts efficiency and drives up productivity within a team project. Imagine, if I couldnl communicate well with my leader as to what clients needed the most, then our work would be on the line and would incur loss to the company!
