2018-05-19: Task 2 (Russia; Kazakhstan; Greece)
In some cultures the old age is highly valued, while in others youth is more valued.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
范文1:
In some countries, they appreciate old people, while in some countries, they think young people can contribute more to the society.
To my point of view, the old age has a number of characteristics that hardly any young have. First, it is the great amount of experience and life truths. Old people, of course, must have undergone many problems in their life, so what they get from them is beyond what young people can imagine. Second, they have the ability to keep calm when facing up many issues in their life. Youth sometimes may be too ebullient to take decisions to deal with their problems. Last but not least, old people always take the long-term consequences into consideraton, which is crucial in planning to do something.
On the other hand, the young generation have enough qualifications which can help them integrate into the modern world.
They are creative and dynamic, and always have courage to make their dreams come true and to change this world into a better place to live. Moreover, their flexibility does help them adapt easily to new living environments and enables them to keep up with the development speed of this forever-changing world.
In conclusion, I believe a developed society is the one which is controlled between the strong points of the old age and youth. Furthermore, it is important for the old to help the young promote their abilities as well as make up for their weaknesses and vice versa.
范文2:
The function of culture is to enrich national identity, promote integration, and transmit accepted values. There are different kinds of beliefs and customs all over the world. Most of the culture respect their older generation for contribution in society. However, some culture has considerable significance to their future breadwinners.
On the one side, elder people not only have invaluable experience in their own life, but also show proper ways to development. In fact, they are experienced, mature, and intelligent in all the aspects of life. They can show and guide paths to youngsters. In addition, they play a major role in family decision. Tackling and solving many problems and difficulties with their profound knowledge and wisdom are some exemplars in every community.
The other side of the coin, many individuals believe that the younger generation are energetic, innovative, assertive in nature, updated with latest technical skills and information, physically and mentally stronger, and dedicated to their goals and aims. They need appreciation and acceptance from others especially from parents. It is imperative that government supports free education for future generations. For instance, countries as Germany or the United states invest large amount of money in cultural values of education systems. For that reason, those countries are known for increasing significant value to the youth development and behavior.
After analyzing different aspects of social and cultural norms of people, to my mind, we should give equal importance to everybody irrespective of age and gender. Care and worth age groups must be prioritized according to the needs.
