Last summer vacation, I went to visit a very good friend of mine who lives quite far away. I went to Sanya, which is a seaside town on Hainan Island, to visit my friend Chen. Chen and I are childhood friends and grew up together in Beijing. However, when Chen turned 12 his father got a new job and he and his family moved away to Sanya.

At the time I found this extremely upsetting because it felt like I lost my closest friend. Yet, now that I am older I realise that friends are not lost simply because they have moved away. Chen usually sent me some beautiful pictures of Sanya and invited me to have a visit to Sanya. So I went to Sanya to visit Chen and I had a wonderful time while I was there. I had never been to Sanya and when I arrived Chen was eager to show me all the fun and exciting things Sanya has to offer. He took me to local seafood restaurants and we swam in the warm oceans. There were so many exciting water sports activities to do in Sanya. We rode speed boats in the ocean and we even went diving and saw such a beautifUl array (大量的)of underwater life. I was so happy I had come here to visit my friend. I now completely understand why his father moved away from Beijing to Sanya. Island life is beautiful and relaxing, which is very different from the hustle and bustle of the city.
