Last summer, while on holiday, I had a very interesting conversation with a stranger. I had travelled to Sanya with a group of my friends to go diving. None of us had been diving before, but we imagined it must be utterly (非常) beautiful to see all of the ocean life and the beauty of nature.

On the day we went diving, we arrived to the diving instructors quite early. They said that the boat would not be returning for approximately 40 minutes but we were allowed to wait in the building if we liked. It was a very hot day so we decided it would be a good idea to stay inside in the cool. While we were waiting, we met another woman who was also waiting for the boat. She began speaking to us and asked if we were travellers here. When we said yes, she began telling us everything she knew about Sanya. She has moved here 10 years ago when she was a young girl with her family and loved Sanya very much. She was a keen diver (潜水爱好者） and told us magical stories about her experience diving and what she had seen underwater. We all listened keenly (听得很仔细）as she told us about beautiful fish and coral reefs. We were so enraptured that the 40 minutes flew past and by the time the boat returned we were all so excited to go diving. She was a kind and interesting person to speak to and we all felt very grateful that we had met her.
