I would like to describe to you the day I met my good friend and co-worker Alex for the first time. I met Alex the day I began my new part time job at a coffee shop. When I arrived to the coffee shop, the manager introduced me to Alex and said he would be training and supervising me during my first few weeks. Alex introduced himself politely and then showed me around the shop and taught me how to do my job.

At first, I was quite nervous as this was my first part time job and I was surrounded by strangers. However, Alex was very kind and made conversation with me to make me feel relaxed. He asked me about my interests and hobbies. I told Alex that I was a student and he asked me about my studies. When I told him I was very interested in English Language, his eyes lit up (亮了起来）and he began to speak in fluent English. I was so impressed by this and complimented him on his lingual (发音）skills. He offered to speak with me in English every day so that I could practice my language skills. I thought this was very generous and kind of him. For the rest of the day we talked about our favourite TV shows, our favourite music and the different hobbies that we are interested in. We discovered that we had a lot in common. It was a lovely first meeting with someone, and since then Alex and I have become very close friends.
