Just a few months ago, as a member of the student union of our college, I organized a knowledge contest in our college with several classmates from our student union department. It was the first time I’ve been involved in planning a game. At first, I was very nervous and didn*t know what I could do in the team. But the minister of our department (部长),Alex, had experience in organizing competitions, and he told us in detail how to organize a knowledge contest. Under his leadership, we had a good division of labor (分工),I was responsible for the rental and layout of the field.

At first, I didn’t think it would be difficult. But when I tried to book the classroom, I found that on the day of our match, all the classrooms had been booked! So, I phoned the people who had booked the classrooms and asked if they could change their time. But all my efforts seemed to be in vain (无价值、失败).No one wanted to change their time. There were only 10 days left, and if we changed the competition time temporarily (临时),it would cause the loss of a lot of players. This was such a huge challenge that I was very anxious. Because I was afraid I ruined our competition.

So, I told Alex the facts. He calmed me down and told me everything would be OK. Then he began to make some calls to our teachers to ask if there were any classrooms left. Finally, we surprisingly received a call from a teacher who could offer us a classroom to hold the competition in, because she had to go out for a meeting. We were overjoyed (欢喜若狂)!

At last our game went off without a hitch. One thing I’ve learned from this is that everything must be arranged in advance. Also, that when encountering difficulties, we should calm down and try our best to find the solutions.
