I believe that in China people would prefer to live in a house, but this is not always possible. Houses are far more advantageous to apartments for a number of reasons. For one, houses are much larger than apartments and are therefore nicer to live in. Furthermore, most houses probably have gardens as well, which is a lovely addition which apartments do not have. Overall, houses are nicer to live in than apartments, however, apartments are far more affordable.

The benefits of living in a house are mainly to do with space and amenities （生活便利设施）.Houses are normally much laiger than apartments which means that people have more space to organise their belongings and decorate their home. This makes for a more enjoyable living experience than a small apartment. Furthermore, houses normally have a larger range of amenities. A house may have a shower and a bath, as well as a washer, a dryer, and a dishwasher. These make living life far more convenient but there is rarely space for such amenities in an apartment.

I think there is a big divide between people who like to live in the city centre and those who like to live in the suburbs. On the one hand, some people love the fast-paced life of the inner city and therefore want to live as close to there as possible. However, some people like to live in the city, but also want some peace and quiet when they are at home, thus, these people like to live in the suburbs.
- Why do many people like to live in the city?
I think loads of people like to live in the city because the city affords people many opportunities for work and also an exciting lifestyle to be a part of. In the city there are far more jobs than in rural areas, and they pay quite well, so people move to the city. Once in the city, people discover all of the amazing restaurants, music venues and live events. Life in the city is very fiin, so people do not want to leave.
