- Why do people choose to travel by public transport?
I think many people choose to travel by public transport for ecological reasons and for convenience. Firstly, public transport is much better for the environment than if everyone was driving a private car, which is a good reason to travel by it. Furthermore, there can be a lot of hassle （困难）in driving a private car such as finding a parking space and getting stuck in traffic. Therefore, often public transport can be the faster and less stressful option.
- What are the disadvantages of traveling by public transportation?
The main disadvantage of travelling by public transport is that often public transport can be very busy and overcrowded. Unfortunately, if the transport system in a city is not very good often the buses and trains become packed with （挤满了） people and it becomes very uncomfortable and unpleasant to travel on. This is particularly bad during rush hour when sometimes it is even impossible to get on the train or bus and you must wait for the next one!
- Do you think offering free public transport will solve traffic problems in the city?
I think that offering free public transport would definitely improve traffic problems in the city but may not solve it all together. Public transport is very good for reducing traffic as you can fit far more people into a bus or train than you can fit into a car. So, each bus on the road could carry the same amount of people as 20 cars! Therefore, if public transport was free more people would use it and there would be less cars on the streets. However, some people are always going to prefer driving their own cars so there will always be some traffic.
- Why do more and more people like to travel by plane?
Travelling by plane is extremely convenient and often quite cheap as well, which is why more and more people like to travel by plane. If you are travelling very long distances taking the train can be a long and stressful process. Flying by plane is quick, comfortable and sometimes even cheaper than taking the train! So obviously it is becoming the preferred method of transport. Unfortunately, plane travel is very bad for the environment so I think it would be good if we invested in our rail industry.
