I once received a piece of very important advice from my grandfather which shaped (打造、 使…形成）the future of my life. When I was in high school, I was preparing for my college entrance exams and it was time for me to consider what I would choose to study as my major. I was young and inexperienced so I was finding this a difficult decision to make. But I knew it was one of great importance, so I went to my family for their advice. My grandfather gave me the best advice out of anyone I asked.

When I came to him to discuss what major I should study at university the first thing he asked me was what I wanted to study. I told him accounting, but that I was worried that perhaps accounting would be too difficult for me and instead I should pick something easier such as economics. He then asked me would I be interested in studying economics. To which my answer was no. Then he gave me the following advice: he said we should always choose to make the decisions which are the most important to us? and will bring us the most happiness, regardless of how difficult they may seem. He told me that choosing the difficult options gives me the opportunity to rise up to the challenge and prove my worth. These were very inspiring words and filled me with courage and pride. I took his advice, and I have never regretted my decision to study accounting as my major.
