- What qualities does a person need to take care of old people?
lb take care of old people a person must be patient and committed to their work. Often, old people have many health problems and they find simple tasks very difficult to perform. So, if a person is to care for them, they must be patient, and help them achieve tasks which may seem simple but are not. It can also be very hard caring for old people, it is a draining profession, so a person must be committed to their work.
- Do you think that old people should be taken care of at home?
I think it is important that old people are taken care of at home. As a society it is good if we show care and respect to our elders. Our elderly are the people who raised us and looked after us when we were young. So, it is right that we care for them at home when they are old and need our help. Some people think that the elderly should be looked after in care homes, but in my opinion, family should look after family. So, I think it is right to look after our elderly in our own home.
- How can people in the neighborhood help the elderly during the epidemic?
During the epidemic there were a lot of elderly people in the community who desperately needed help. Elderly people are at very high risk of infection, so it was hard for elderly people to go out in society to get food or medicine. Therefore, people in the neighbourhood were able to help the elderly by doing grocery shops for them or collecting prescriptions from pharmacies and delivering them to their houses. This way, the elderly are able to limit their exposure to the virus which keeps them protected.
- Do you see this kind of (above mentioned) help occurring in your neighborhood?
In my neighbourhood the community did all they could to help the most vulnerable in our area. During an epidemic, I believe that people are encouraged and inspired to help each other and to work together. In my community there were people delivering groceries and medicine to the elderly all the time. People were looking after each other and trying to make sure that everyone in the community was safe and healthy. I was really proud of my community and respected all the strong and fit people who risked themselves to help.
